Raul Plancarte Lecture Poster

THIS project was a collaboration with Otis MFA Graphic Design Alumni Tracy Lin and Instructor Ana Llorente. The lecture series poster consists of 6 multi-colored screenprinted letter-sized posters that can be arranged in various playful ways. We used the Gandhi typeface, designed by Raul Plancarte himself, and overlayed the digital type with experimental type made from items and structures found around campus. The poster design aimed to pay tribute to Raul Plancarte's Mexican heritage and his approach to type design. We also kept in mind the logistics involved when it comes to the posting and production of the posters. Tracy and I agreed on designing a poster that combines the legible digital and the expressive experimental, using 3 of each of our digital layouts and experimental letters.
