The Global Cafe Identity
I designed the Global Cafe Identity for Neighbor Gap Bridge, an Integrated Learning / Creative Action class under instructors Patricia Kovic and Michelle Jaquis. The aim of the project was to envision a Global Cafe for Otis students and its neighbors around the Westchester community which includes a senior center, an elementary school, and a hotel. I thought about how the circle can perfectly define the global as well as the individual. I explored various patterns and arrangements playing around with value, scale, and displacement to represent The Global Cafe being composed of individuals in a diverse community where connection and sharing is encouraged.
